The boys left last night to get the night ferry back. We had a few beers with them before they went- then thought it was a good idea to sink a couple of bottles of local wine! Not an early start today!
It is not a long stage today. I get away just after 1000. The backdrop at Saumur is beautiful and I stop for one last look before we leave. I have a lovely ride back on my own again tired but in good spirit. I only have 3 days to go. It feels like end of term week. None of the days are too long and I am so close to the finish.
I ride through Angers and on towards Nantes. I am on the penultimate gpx file now- exciting. I get 33kms past Angers- that the amount less I have to do tomorrow! I need to avoid mistakes now as I am so close to the end. There is one point where I hit a patch of gravel on a corner and almost come off- slow down! I need to get to the finish.
We have a good campsite tonight at Montjean-sur-Loire. It has great facilities but it’s a bit like Hi-di-Hi! Another one to look up youths!
We were there a day early- another day and it would have been karaoke night, and had we been there on Saturday it was bingo night!😂
Another 87 kms knocked off. Total is now 3831 kms done and just 117 kms scheduled still to go.
