Plan is for half day today. Plan for last night was to each at the campsite. Bar was open but not serving food. Checked Google- there is a kebab shop 1km away – needs must- however it is closed.there is a pizzeria 2.5 kms away. Passepartout agrees to cycle- we ride to the village- pizzeria is closed! Back for emergency pasta and tuna! From what we can see of it most of this part of France is closed.
We plan to camp at a site with all facilities at Bourbon-Lancy half way to our rendezvous point tomorrow with our guests at Decize. We meet for a planned lunch at Digoin, it is a milestone as it is where we meet with the Loire. It is a spectacular point as the canal is taken by aqueduct over the river there. The river is beautiful and there is a very well put together and maintained visitor centre there. Obviously it is closed as are the cafes that are supposed to serve the spot! Again, France is closed.

I head further up the canal and Passepartout goes ahead to book in at the campsite. It is full. Luckily Passepartout calls me to tell me just as I have unfrozen my gpx system that is playing up. I have overshot my turn off the canal by about 3 kms but have landed in the village with the only available campsite for the night! Result! We link up and book in to a lovely quiet little municipal campsite on the banks of the Loire in a village called Diou. This time we take no chances. Everything is closed so we drive 7 kms to a Super U and get stuff for a bbq.

I sort out my Strava and Relive apps. I have done 58 kms today but managed to knock my Relife app off so it only records part of my trip- irritating. One more day and we link with the supporters!
