EV6 day 23 half day

After a day cycling into a breezy wind I am very tired. But timing is everything and we are scheduled a short section today- just 46kms. So we get up late, have a leisurely cuppa in the sun then make our way to the start point. It is plain sailing today. The ‘light breeze’ is still there but it is variable in intensity and direction so is no more than a nuisance. Lots of people on the trail for some reason so the path is busy. I am in a happy mood today as only a short way to go. I meet with Passepartout for a coffee in a village called Frengkofen.

Betsy gets a rest after battling the wind.

So why is there just one shiny bit where it is?!

I have learned my lesson with the updated infrastructure versus my gpx file. I can see cyclists heading along a well surfaced part of the path whilst my route takes me well off to the left. I stop and check, then find it is taking me in a wide loop, the path has been upgraded. Result! I am 4 kms nearer home for no extra effort!

I am not the only one just chilling today.

All of a sudden I am in Regensburg, the end of the day. It is a lovely historical city. Here is the lock going into the city.

And my stopping point for the day. The lovely town square. I have a rest day today and I am staying in an hotel in the town. Passepartout has taken the camper van back to last nights site to chill out. I will look around the city over the next 24 hours- when I get some strength back! 2200 kms done and only 1700 to go now.
